About this dataset
Anyone holding a net short position of 0.5% or more of a listed company's shares must report it, and the regulator publishes it. Each further change of 0.1 percentage point is a new filing. When a position falls below 0.5%, that one filing is published and the position then disappears from view: a smaller position may still exist.
Change is the difference with the holder’s previous filing in the same company and the same register, in percentage points. Since position is how the company’s share price moved from the first close after the position date to the latest close; a short seller gains when the price falls. A dash means we have no price series for that share, or no close after the position date yet. Open now marks the filing that stands today: the holder’s latest, still at 0.5% or more. A company page link appears where we have a page for that company.
For the Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland and Spain the register gives no publication date; for filings we saw appear, the date we first read them is shown as published, and for the history loaded on our first reading no publication date is shown. Filings that need a second look (a malformed ISIN, three decimals, a comment from the regulator) are held back. Norway and Denmark are collected but not shown: we found no license to reuse them.
The AMF asks users to treat lines below 0.5% with the greatest caution: such a line is the last position made public for that holder, not necessarily the holder's position today.
